Ingredients
Scale
Biscuit Sandwiches
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky biscuits
- 8 slices deli roast beef
- 4 slices provolone cheese, halved
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Au Jus Dipping Sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Assemble Biscuit Sandwiches: Separate each biscuit into two layers to create 16 rounds. On 8 of the biscuit halves, place one slice of roast beef and a half slice of provolone cheese. Top with the remaining biscuit halves and press the edges firmly to seal the filling inside.
- Season and Bake: Place the sealed biscuit sandwiches on the prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, and onion powder. Brush this seasoned butter over the tops of the biscuits to add flavor and help them brown nicely. Bake for 13 to 16 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Prepare Au Jus Sauce: While the biscuits bake, heat the beef broth in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer gently for 5 to 7 minutes to develop rich flavor.
- Serve: Remove the biscuits from the oven and serve warm with the hot au jus dipping sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Be sure to seal the biscuit edges tightly to prevent the cheese from leaking out during baking.
- For extra flavor, add caramelized onions or a spread of horseradish mayo inside the biscuits before sealing.
- You can bake the biscuits in a muffin tin for a neater, uniform shape.
