Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Seasoning
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce
- 1 ¼ cups (290 g) mayonnaise
- â…” cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 2 teaspoons Sriracha, or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the chicken cubes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Skewer Chicken: Thread 4 to 5 pieces of the seasoned chicken cubes onto each pre-soaked wooden skewer, ensuring they are spaced evenly.
- Make Bang Bang Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey until smooth. Set aside half of the sauce for drizzling later.
- Coat Chicken: Brush the chicken skewers with the remaining Bang Bang sauce, ensuring each piece is generously covered.
- Air Fry Chicken: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the coated skewers in the air fryer basket, cook for 11-12 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve: Once cooked, drizzle the reserved Bang Bang sauce over the hot skewers just before serving for that delicious finishing touch.
- Oven Instructions (Alternative): Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the chicken skewers on a lined baking tray for 20-25 minutes, then brush with the reserved sauce before serving.
- Grill Instructions (Alternative): Grill the chicken skewers over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes per side until fully cooked and slightly charred, then brush with the reserved sauce before serving.
Notes
- Soaking wooden skewers prevents them from burning during cooking.
- You can adjust the Sriracha quantity based on your preferred spice level.
- The Bang Bang sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Chicken is fully cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- For extra crispiness, pat chicken dry before seasoning and coating with sauce.
