Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 (8-oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls (seamless sheet preferred)
Fillings
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Pizza toppings (pepperoni, ham, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms) – quantity as desired
Other
- Cooking spray for greasing muffin cups
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Spray 8 regular muffin cups with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Shape Dough Bases: Cut the crescent roll dough into 8 equal squares. Press each square firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared muffin cups to form a dough base cup.
- Add Cheese Base: Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese into the bottom of each dough-lined muffin cup.
- Layer Sauce: Spoon approximately 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce over the cheese layer in each cup, spreading evenly.
- Add Toppings and Cheese: Top each cup with the remaining mozzarella cheese, then add your preferred pizza toppings such as pepperoni, ham, sausage, peppers, onions, or mushrooms.
- Season: Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder evenly over the toppings to add extra flavor.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Serve: Carefully remove the pizza cupcakes from the muffin tin and serve immediately while warm and melty.
Notes
- You can customize the toppings to your preference, including vegetarian options.
- Using a seamless sheet of crescent rolls simplifies forming the dough bases.
- Make sure to spray the muffin tin well to avoid sticking.
- Serve with extra pizza sauce or ranch dressing for dipping if desired.
- These can be made ahead and warmed up before serving.
