Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Honey Glaze
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Other
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Lemon wedges for garnish
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the salmon after searing.
- Prepare the honey glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, and smoked paprika to create a flavorful glaze for the salmon.
- Season the salmon. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavors.
- Sear the salmon. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for 2-3 minutes until the skin is crisp and browned.
- Apply the glaze. Flip the salmon fillets carefully and brush the tops generously with the prepared honey glaze to keep them moist and flavorful during baking.
- Bake the salmon. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish and serve. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh lemon wedges and chopped parsley before serving to add brightness and color.
Notes
- For extra crisp skin, pat the salmon dry thoroughly before searing.
- Adjust the glaze ingredients to taste; add more honey for sweetness or more lemon juice for tang.
- Use a meat thermometer to check doneness; salmon should reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- If you don’t have an oven-safe skillet, transfer the salmon to a baking dish after searing.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
