Description

A fun and festive Reindeer Poop Snack Mix combining crispy Corn Pops cereal coated in a luscious blend of peanut butter, chocolate, honey, and vegetable oil, then dusted with a mix of cocoa powder and powdered sugar for a sweet, chocolaty treat perfect for holiday snacking or parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Snack Mix

  • 6 cups Corn Pops cereal or similar cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey

Coating

  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to use later for setting the coated snack mix.
  2. Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and vegetable oil. Heat in the microwave at half power for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second increments at half power, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, about 2-3 minutes total.
  3. Add Honey and Coat Cereal: Stir the honey into the melted chocolate mixture. Add 2 cups of Corn Pops cereal to the bowl and carefully stir to coat all pieces evenly. Repeat adding the cereal in 2-cup increments, mixing well each time, until all 6 cups are coated.
  4. Mix Cocoa and Powdered Sugar: In a large container or a gallon-size resealable plastic bag, combine the cocoa powder and powdered sugar thoroughly.
  5. Coat Cereal with Cocoa Mixture: Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into the container with the cocoa and powdered sugar mixture. Seal the container and shake vigorously until every piece is fully coated with the dry mixture.
  6. Set and Serve: Pour the coated snack mix onto the prepared parchment-lined baking sheet and allow the coating to set. Once set, your Reindeer Poop Snack Mix is ready to enjoy or store for later snacking.

Notes

  • Use half power in microwave heating to prevent burning the chocolate and peanut butter.
  • Make sure to coat the cereal gradually to ensure all pieces are evenly coated without clumping.
  • You can store this snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
  • For a nut-free version, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
  • This recipe is great for holiday parties or as a fun gift in a decorative bag.
