Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Sausage & Cheese
- 1/2 lb breakfast sausage (or any ground sausage)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until it is browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat and set the cooked sausage aside.
- Scramble the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, then pour in the egg mixture. Cook while stirring occasionally until eggs are fully scrambled and cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Crescent Rolls: Open the crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles on a flat surface. Place a spoonful of cooked sausage in the center of each triangle, followed by a portion of scrambled eggs, and then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Roll and Bake: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll each crescent triangle around the filling and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced evenly.
- Bake: Bake the filled crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the crescent rolls to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm for the best flavor.
Notes
- Use your favorite type of shredded cheese such as mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
- Precook the sausage well to ensure it is safe to eat and to drain excess grease.
- These crescent rolls can be prepared ahead of time and baked fresh for serving.
- For a spicier version, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the egg mixture or use spicy sausage.
- Make sure not to overfill the crescent rolls to avoid leakage while baking.
