Description

This easy and flavorful Spaghetti & Meatballs One-Pot Wonder recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Made entirely in the Instant Pot, it combines tender meatballs, perfectly cooked spaghetti, and rich marinara sauce in one pot, cutting down on cleanup and cooking time. Ready in just 30 minutes, this comforting Italian-inspired dish is great for busy families or anyone craving a hearty, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb frozen meatballs
  • 3 cups water
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 8 oz spaghetti, broken in half
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Instant Pot: Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Add the olive oil and let it heat up.
  2. Sauté the aromatics: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for about 2 minutes or until fragrant and slightly softened.
  3. Layer ingredients: Layer the frozen meatballs evenly over the sautéed onions and garlic. Next, add the broken spaghetti on top of the meatballs. Pour the marinara sauce over the spaghetti, followed by the water. Do not stir to keep the layering intact.
  4. Pressure cook: Close the Instant Pot lid securely and set the valve to sealing mode. Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes.
  5. Release pressure: Once cooking is complete, perform a quick release by carefully turning the valve to venting to release all the steam.
  6. Combine and serve: Open the lid and stir everything well to combine the spaghetti with the meatballs and sauce evenly. Serve hot with an optional sprinkle of Parmesan cheese or fresh basil leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Breaking the spaghetti helps it cook evenly and fit better in the pot.
  • Do not stir the ingredients before cooking to avoid sticking and ensure even cooking.
  • You can substitute frozen meatballs with fresh ones, but cooking time may vary slightly.
  • If you prefer, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Let the pressure release naturally if you want softer pasta, but quick release keeps pasta firm.
